meditation smallAre you stressed out? Do you move at a hundred miles per hour? Do you rush from place to place and feel permanently on the go? If this is you, then meditation can help.

Meditation is not a religious or spiritual practice in itself, although it is fully adopted by many sorts of groups as a key part of their daily lives – and rightly so, it is very effective.

At it’s heart, meditation is a means of calming the mind and the body and that is the key impact for us in the 21st Century. Using meditation, we can get that much-needed head space and get back some spare capacity that will enable us to cope much better with our days.

Do you have to breathe deeply? Not really. Do you have to chant or study images? No. Do you have to clear your mind? Absolutely not – I meditate regularly and often my mind is super-busy most of the way through.

Why bother with meditation?

Because it works for me and for many ordinary people that I know. 15 minutes of meditation has more of an impact in my life than 15 minutes would seem able to. When I meditate regularly, I am calmer, a bit slower, more able to cope with the unexpected. I feel less rushed, I concentrate better and I arrive at the end of the day just feeling … a bit more … me.

If you would like to give meditation a go, my partner and I have a drop-in meditation group on a Saturday morning at 11:00 in Old Buckenham. It’s just £5 for the hour including tea and coffee afterwards. We will show you a really simple but effective meditation everyone can do and benefit greatly from and that you can take home and use at other times.

Come along, say hello and try it for yourself. For more details, check my partner’s website www.youforia.co.uk or call us.
